Nate leads Newpoint’s Strategy Practice, applying his deep domain experience in health system development and leadership to advance clients’ formation and activation of objectives for their futures. White has identified and negotiated numerous hospital mergers and other hospital affiliations, joint ventures, acquisitions, and divestitures, including acquisition and negotiation of more than 1500 physician practices and 200 post-acute facilities in 22 states. In addition to his general consulting and M&A advisory services, Nate is available to conduct strategic board retreats.

Nate White joined Newpoint following a prolific run as Chief Operating Officer of Sanford HealthWhite’s tenure at Sanford Health saw the organization grow from $300 million in net revenue and a handful of hospitals and employed physicians, to a $6.2 billion national health system with 40 hospitals, 1,500 employed physicians, 200 post-acute facilities, 200,000 health plan members, and $50 million in funded research.  

White offers guidance on organizing principles and processes for major investment decisions designed to expand clinical services and facilities across multiple markets. He has guided system leaders in developing comprehensive patient-centered programs and service lines to advance access, population health, and care management for a system’s patients and health plan membersThe core of these programs was a consumer-based model—placing the patient at the “center” of the healthcare setting, all of which improved outcomes and reduced the cost of care. His innovations included guaranteed same-day appointments, a successful virtual care exam kit/app for 24/7 access to guided medical examsvalue-driven physician compensation models, deploying community-based healthcare navigatorsand developing the physical space to make it all happen 

He also has identified and negotiated numerous provider acquisitions, including a health system’s acquisition of the nation’s largest nonprofit post-acute provider with over 200 facilities in 22 states. In addition, he helps system executives design new payment models with a variety of major payors to incentivize progress towards the triple aim and to align physicians/providers towards these goals, resulting in more effective care management, wellness programs, clinical interventions, and socioeconomic outreach to improve the social determinants of health status. 

White has been a national speaker on healthcare system development and mission advancement and is available to conduct strategic board retreats. He received his BA from Augustana College and JD from the University of Kansas, where he received the highest award given at commencement, recognizing academic excellence, leadership, and community service.
