Newpoint Health Adds Nate White as President
Former Sanford Health Executive to Head Advisory Firm’s Strategy Practice
PHOENIX, Ariz. (March 30, 2021) — Newpoint Healthcare Advisors, a national consulting firm exclusively advising the healthcare industry, today announced Nathan White has joined the firm as president. White comes to Newpoint after 15 years with South Dakota-based Sanford Health, where he most recently served as system chief operating officer. White will lead Newpoint’s strategy practice, leveraging his significant knowledge in investment and merger and acquisition strategy, operations and change management, and clinical quality and patient experience.
“Nate understands what it takes to elevate a health system to the next level and has the knowledge, expertise, and leadership aptitude to guide organizations through periods of growth and change,” said Joseph R. Lupica, JD, Chairman of Newpoint. “His background in law and health system operations supports the valuable and authoritative perspective he offers our clients across the country. We are extremely pleased to welcome him as a member of our executive team.”
White joined Sanford Health in 2005 as associate general counsel and advanced to president of the health system’s Fargo market before being named system COO in 2013. His many accomplishments include leading post-merger management team restructuring, implementing financial turnaround strategies that reduced operating expenses by more than $100 million, and designing new payment models and clinical structures to drive improved revenue and better outcomes. White credits Sanford’s success to the dedicated team of internal leaders and external partners who worked tirelessly to build and grow the company.
“We grew Sanford to more than $6.5 billion in revenue by the time I departed, relying on the expertise of our leadership team as well as consultants like Newpoint,” said White. “I’m looking forward to sharing my perspective with hospital and health system leaders who are facing the same challenges and opportunities I once did. I am honored to join Newpoint and eager to begin this new chapter.”
White began his career as an attorney with WilmerHale, an international law firm based in Washington, D.C. He earned his undergraduate degree from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. Upon graduation from the University of Kansas, White received the Samuel Mellinger Award for academic excellence, leadership and community service.
